By Graham Nalty, proprietor of Black Rhodium

The LOTOS Jazz Festival Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa is held in Bielsko-Biała, Poland and attracts world jazz stars and an audience of jazz enthusiasts from Poland and surrounding countries. It is one of the largest jazz festivals in Poland.

Our Polish distributor, Hi-Fi Studio contributed to the LOTOS Jazz Festival in June 2022 by presenting a recorded concert with very high-quality hi-fi system that included the Cantata stereo RCA interconnect.

This concert honoured the work of outstanding Polish Jazz Musician Zbigniew, Namysłowski, who died a few months previously. His daughter Mary Rumi, and son, Jacek Namysłowski, dedicated a concert to their father and released an album “Depressed Lady”. A ceremonial premier audition of the album took place in the audio studio of our Polish distributor Hi-Fi Studio in Bielsko-Biala.

A music playing system of the highest quality equipment was used and the studio album CD was presented to an audience of artists, the festival director, invited guests and the media. The music from the album was played for the first time on the system.

After the premiere listening to the CD in the audio studio, a concert took place in the Cavatina Hall where this material was presented live.

The listening system included the Unison Research Absolute 845 vacuum tube amplifier and PMC MB2 SE loudspeakers. Black Rhodium Cantata S cables were used to connect the Mark Levinson No.512 CD player to the Unison Research amplifier.

Our Polish distributor commented that the "Cantata S was the most appropriate cable we could connect in this system."

I was very pleased to see Cantata being used for such a prestigious presentation.
